Getting your booklet produced is not quite the end of the renewal. You still need to actually get it into your hands, and NIS gives you two ways to do that.
Here is how each option works.
Check readiness before you travel

Turning up at your centre before production has finished wastes a trip that costs you time for nothing.
Option one: collect it yourself
The most straightforward route is collecting your booklet from the same centre where you did your biometric capture. Bring your acknowledgement or appointment slip and valid identification.
This is the option most applicants use by default, since it needs no extra fee and no waiting on a courier. It also puts the booklet in your hands the moment it clears the counter, rather than waiting on a delivery to arrive after that.
Staff at the centre will usually ask you to confirm a few details verbally before handing the booklet over, as a simple final check that it matches the person collecting it.
Option two: courier delivery
The portal also asks a direct question: how would you like to receive your passport. Choosing courier delivery for an extra fee means NIS arranges delivery instead of you travelling back to the centre.
We could not find a published courier fee in NIS's own materials, so the exact amount is something to confirm at the point you select it, not something to assume in advance.
Weighing the two options
If your centre is close and you're free to travel, collecting in person avoids any extra charge. If you're far from your capture centre, or travel is genuinely difficult for you, courier delivery may be worth the unpublished fee, provided you confirm it first.
There is no rule that one option is faster than the other; it simply changes who does the travelling, you or the booklet. Someone who travelled a long distance for their biometric appointment in the first place, for instance, may reasonably prefer not to repeat that same journey just to pick up the finished booklet.
Whichever you pick, make the choice once and stick with it, rather than switching between the two after you've already selected one on the portal.
What to do once you have it
