Renewals

Renew government documents online in Nigeria.

Driver's licence, vehicle papers, passport, CAC annual return, FIRS TCC — every document Nigeria asks you to renew on a schedule. One platform, one audit trail, transparent fees before you pay.

The problem

Why Nigerian documents keep expiring on you.

Each agency has its own portal, its own deadline, its own receipt format. Miss one and the whole tender package or visa application stops.

Most Nigerians hold at least four documents with independent renewal cycles — a driver's licence (3 or 5 years), vehicle papers (annual), a passport (5 or 10 years), and one or more tax or statutory filings (annual). They expire in different months, for different agencies, with different supporting documents each time.

Docufy maps the renewal calendar against your profile. When a deadline is approaching we prompt you, pre-fill what we already hold, and handle the agency-side mechanics. You only touch the part that genuinely needs you.

Questions

Common questions about renewals.

Can I renew my driver's licence online without going to FRSC?

The biometric capture (fingerprints and live photo) must happen in person at an FRSC Drivers Licence Centre — that step cannot be skipped by law. Everything else — form, payment, appointment booking — is handled online through Docufy so your only in-person step is the 20-minute capture.

How do I renew my Nigerian passport in 2026?

You apply online, pay the NIS fee, then book a biometric appointment at a passport office. Docufy pre-fills the NIS form against your details, checks your supporting documents, and delivers the appointment letter. The slip is added to your vault on issuance.

Does CAC annual return count as a renewal?

CAC annual return is a statutory filing, not a renewal in the identity-document sense — but it works the same way: an annual obligation with a deadline, a penalty for lateness, and a verified PDF on completion. Docufy handles it on the same calendar-reminder system.

What is the FIRS TCC renewal cycle?

A Tax Clearance Certificate covers the three most recent financial years and is typically dated to expire 31 December of the year of issue. You renew it annually. Docufy tracks the expiry and prompts you ahead of tenders or contract reviews.

Can I renew multiple documents at once?

Yes. Each document type is a separate filing — but your details (NIN, address, contact) are stored once and reused. Most customers handle their FRSC licence, vehicle papers and passport in the same quarter so nothing lapses simultaneously.

What happens if my document is past its expiry?

Expired documents are still renewed — not re-issued from scratch — for driver's licences and most vehicle papers. For passports, an expired passport is the norm at renewal time; NIS still renews it. There is no penalty for renewing late on FRSC documents, but you are technically driving without a valid licence in the gap.
