Quick answer

Rev360 at selfservice.nrs.gov.ng covers registration, filing returns, making payments, requesting refunds and certificates, and checking a real-time tax ledger. It is one portal in place of the several taxpayers used to move between under TaxPro Max.

TaxPro Max spread a taxpayer's business across more than one process. Rev360 was built to put most of it behind a single login.

Knowing the full list matters, because plenty of filers still only use Rev360 for the one task they came in for and never notice what else is sitting a few clicks away.

Registration

New taxpayers register directly on selfservice.nrs.gov.ng, run by the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), formerly FIRS. Existing TaxPro Max accounts did not need to repeat this step, since they moved to Rev360 automatically, with login details sent by email.

Registration is also where a business first confirms its Tax ID is correctly linked. Getting that right at the start avoids a mismatch showing up later, at the exact moment a return is due.

Filing returns

Rev360 handles the returns businesses file most often. VAT returns are due by the 21st day of the following month, and the same login covers other return types without switching systems partway through.

If you specifically need help with VAT, our guide to filing the monthly VAT return covers that return in detail.

Filing on time still matters more than which portal you use to do it. A return submitted a day late attracts the same penalty whether the delay was Rev360 being unfamiliar or anything else.

Making payments

Payments sit inside the same portal as filing. Withholding tax, for instance, is remitted by the 21st day of the following month, and Rev360 is where that payment is now made and recorded against your account.

Keep the payment reference the portal generates. It is what ties a bank transfer back to the specific return it was meant to settle, and support queries move faster with it to hand.

Requesting refunds and certificates

Refund requests and certificate requests both run through Rev360 rather than a separate office process. A tax clearance certificate is the one most businesses ask about, since tenders and banks ask for it often.

If logging into Rev360 yourself is not something you want to deal with, start a tax clearance certificate request and a vetted partner firm handles the filing side. Our guide to getting one online explains the request in full.

Checking your real-time tax ledger

Rev360's ledger is meant to show where a taxpayer stands as payments and filings are recorded, rather than only at the end of a filing period. That is a genuine change from a system where a filer often only found out about a mismatch months later.

Use it to check a return actually registered before assuming a payment has gone missing.

It is also the fastest way to settle a dispute with an accountant or a director over whether a filing was actually done. The ledger shows the record, not someone's memory of submitting it.

Why one login for everything is worth the adjustment

Moving several separate processes into one portal takes some getting used to if you were comfortable with the old way of doing things. The upside is fewer logins to remember and fewer places a filing or a payment can quietly fall through a gap between two disconnected systems.

Common mistakes

  • Filing and then not checking the ledger. A submission that looks complete on your end can still show as pending until the portal processes it.
  • Requesting a refund through the wrong category. Choosing the correct return type first avoids a request bouncing back for resubmission.
  • Treating Rev360 as VAT-only. It also handles registration, other return types, payments and certificate requests in the same place.

If you have not logged in yet, our step-by-step login guide covers migrated and new accounts. For the full story of the changeover Rev360 sits inside, see our full account of the tax authority's rename and the NRS and Rev360 hub.

Questions people ask

Can I see my full payment history on Rev360?

Rev360's real-time ledger is built to show a taxpayer's position as it updates, which is the main improvement filers mention over the older system.

Can I file VAT and withholding tax from the same account?

Yes. One Rev360 login now covers different return types, including VAT, due by the 21st day of the following month, and withholding tax, remitted by the 21st day of the following month.

Can I request a tax clearance certificate through Rev360?

Certificate requests are among the services Rev360 consolidates. If you would rather not deal with the portal yourself, a vetted partner firm can request one for you.

Do refunds work differently on Rev360?

Refund requests sit inside the same portal as filing and payment now, rather than a separate process, though the agency's own review still decides the outcome.
