NIMC charges ₦2,000 to modify a field other than date of birth. That single fee covers name and address by name on NIMC's own price list, and reasonably extends to fields such as phone number and email too.

The current fee for these changes
The fee is ₦2,000, charged per request on NIMC's self-service portal. NIMC's price list names name and address specifically under this fee.
Phone number and email are not individually listed in the reporting we could find, but nothing suggests NIMC prices them differently from other non-date-of-birth fields.
What it replaced
Before 2 May 2025, this fee was ₦1,522. NIMC's increase brought it to ₦2,000, a rise of roughly 31%, as part of a wider revision of its modification charges.
What the fee does and does not cover
This fee covers one field modification. If you are correcting your name and your address in the same sitting, treat those as two separate requests unless the portal explicitly bundles them for you.
It does not cover a date of birth correction, which NIMC prices separately and higher, or a slip reissue, which is a different service entirely.
How it compares with the date of birth fee
NIMC charges ₦28,574 to correct a date of birth, against ₦2,000 for most other fields. The gap reflects how much more strictly NIMC treats a date of birth change than everything else.
That difference is also a reason to confirm which field you are actually changing before you pay, since paying for the wrong modification type does not roll over into the right one.
This fee is for requests made inside Nigeria
The figures above apply inside Nigeria. NIMC publishes a separate, region-based fee for Nigerians modifying these details from abroad, so treat this page as the domestic price only.
