A login that will not work usually has one of a small number of causes, most of them fixable without contacting anyone.
Working through them in order saves time. Jumping straight to a support request often just gets you asked the same questions this list already answers.
The most common cause: a migrated account
If you filed on TaxPro Max before, your account moved to Rev360 automatically, with login details sent by email. The single biggest cause of login trouble is searching for a TaxPro Max page that no longer exists, instead of going straight to selfservice.nrs.gov.ng, run by the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), formerly FIRS.
Check the email address linked to your old account, including spam, for the message confirming the move.
If that address is no longer active, the confirmation may have gone somewhere you can no longer reach. That is worth ruling out before assuming the migration itself failed.
Wrong or mismatched details
A Rev360 account is tied to your Tax ID, which is in turn linked to your NIN or your business's CAC number. If those underlying details do not match, the portal can reject a login that looks correct to you.
Confirm your own details are right at taxid.nrs.gov.ng first. Our lookup guide walks through that check for both individuals and businesses.
A recent name change, a corrected date of birth, or a CAC filing that updated a company's details can all leave Rev360 briefly out of step with the record it checks against.
What to check before trying again
Work through these before assuming the account itself is broken.
- Are you using selfservice.nrs.gov.ng, not an old TaxPro Max bookmark?
- Does your Tax ID resolve correctly at taxid.nrs.gov.ng?
- Have you checked spam for a migration email?
- Have you tried the password reset option rather than guessing?
- Has it been more than a few hours since the last attempt, in case the portal itself was briefly down?
When to contact the NRS directly
If every step above checks out and the login still fails, that points to an account-level issue the portal's own reset tools cannot fix. At that point, raising it with the NRS directly is faster than repeated attempts.
Avoid registering a second, brand-new account while you wait. It rarely resolves the fault and can complicate your filing history once the original login is restored.
Note the exact error message the portal shows before you contact anyone. A precise description gets a faster answer than "it won't let me in".
If the fault seems to be the portal, not you
Occasionally the problem really is on the portal's side rather than your account. A sudden spike in traffic around a filing deadline is a common trigger, since a large share of taxpayers file in the final days before a due date.
If several unrelated people report the same issue on the same day, treat that as a sign to wait a few hours rather than repeatedly resetting your own password in response to a fault that has nothing to do with it.
A workaround while you wait
If a tax clearance certificate is the only reason you need Rev360 access right now, you do not have to solve the login first. Start a tax clearance certificate request and a vetted partner firm can request it while you sort your own portal access out separately.
